Record Deletion

Record Deletion

Management of criminal records & reputation

CJS Defence has extensive experience in advising clients with information or records held on the police national computer or local police records, seeking to remove damaging records for reputational purposes and other reasons.

Where someone has a reprimand, warning or caution, it is possible to remove that record with careful representations.

It is not possible to remove a conviction. This can only be done by appealing the conviction (we can advise you on this process).

DBS Barred List (Disclosure and Barring Service)

A conviction for certain offences will be followed by a notice to include you on the DBS barred list for working with children or the vulnerable. Being included on these lists means that if you apply for a job within certain sectors, you could be committing a criminal offence.

Sometimes there is no justification for adding a person to one or both lists, and detailed representations will need to be made.

Chris has had success in making representations to avoid being added to one or both barred lists.
